How does corepower yoga work?

Corepower yoga is a series of exercises that belong to the advanced levels of yoga. These exercises are designed to give your body a complete workout along with increasing your concentration powers and stimulating the spiritual powers within oneself. This series of exercises are exact representations of ancient yogasanas and these have been passed on over many generations. The details of these levels are explained below:
- Physical exercises: Corepower yoga contains a series of exercises that give a complete workout to the entire body. Each exercise starts with a beginning posture which is more of a symbolic salute and then progresses to different postures that provide exercise to specific parts of the body and conclude in the end posture which is that of relaxation. These exercises are designed in such a way that the practitioner ‘flows’ from one posture to another gracefully, like in a dance. There are no jerky or unrelated movements and each posture blends into the next one without pauses. This type of free flowing movement is called Vinyasa and is the foundation of corepower yoga.
- The second level of stimulation is for the concentration powers of the practitioner. During the beginning stage, the practitioners are asked to hold their postures for specific numbers of breaths (one breath is an inhalation and one exhalation) and gradually increase the duration of postures by breaths. After some days, they are asked to concentrate on the part of their bodies that the specific exercise targets and are also asked to understand the ‘feel’ and ‘pain’ thresholds of the body. This improves the concentration of the individuals and they are able to adapt the same type of focus to all other activities in their general lives.
- The third level is the more advanced level of understanding the spiritual powers of their own selves. This is a gradual process and there are no pre set directions to achieve this. But, practicing corepower yoga helps individuals to achieve this awareness a lot earlier than others. Constant practice of corepower yoga sanas will automatically increase the concentration levels and gradually make the practitioners to concentrate inward, rather than the physical aspects of exercise. Advanced practitioners are aware of how the body responds to the flow of the each posture and they are also aware of the actual inner feeling that each exercise causes. The sense of well being, completeness and awareness is the culmination of the corepower yoga.
